On 28 June 2025, GGR Motor stepped onto the national stage. At the EV Rider Malaysia 2025 carnival at Saloma KLCC in Kuala Lumpur, the company — Malaysia's first fully Bumiputera-owned electric motorcycle manufacturer — officially launched its flagship, the Lion G1.
The launch was officiated by Deputy Minister Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan, with GGR Chairman Tengku Syarif Temenggong Perlis and Managing Director Muhammad Mussaddiq Mohamed Azmi on hand, alongside MARA leadership.
"One Household, One EV"
GGR framed the Lion G1 as more than a product — it is the opening move in what the company calls the "Go Green Revolution," a push to make clean, affordable mobility reachable for every Malaysian household.
Our aspiration is clear — One Household, One EV. This is not just a slogan, but a genuine commitment. — Muhammad Mussaddiq Mohamed Azmi, Managing Director, GGR Motor
A strong start
Demand showed up early. GGR sold 3,000 Lion G1 units during the pre-launch period alone, with the first 1,000 scheduled for delivery by the end of July 2025 — an early sign of the appetite for an electric bike priced for the rakyat.
Available from RM1,599 under the MARiiCas subsidy, the Lion G1 marked the start of GGR's journey to electrify everyday transport across Malaysia.
