"Range" is the first question every rider asks about an EV — and the most misunderstood. A lab number on a spec sheet rarely survives contact with stop-start city riding, hills, and a heavy throttle hand. So let's talk about what the GGR Lion G1 actually delivers.
Two packs, one big advantage
The Lion G1 carries two swappable 72V PowerCell packs. Together they're good for up to 150 km. But the real win isn't the number — it's that you never have to wait. Run low, swap a depleted pack for a charged one at any GGR swap point, and you're moving again in under a minute.
Three ride modes
- Eco — capped power and aggressive regen for maximum range on the commute
- City — balanced response for everyday riding
- Sport — full 11 kW and a sharper throttle map for the open road
Regenerative braking recovers energy every time you roll off the throttle or brake — in dense traffic that can add several kilometres back into the pack over a day's riding. The TFT dash shows a live, honest range estimate that learns from how you ride.
In a week of mixed KL commuting in City mode, our test bike averaged 128 km between full charges — with both packs still showing headroom.
Charging at home is simple: pull a pack, carry it inside, and plug into the GGR FastCharge 3.0 for a 0–80% top-up in about two and a half hours. No dedicated wall box, no electrician, no garage required.
